2024 is a very special year for Embrace (previously BDCPS), as we celebrate turning 70 years old! We have an abundance of fundraising events for you to join, and a fundraising goal of a huge £70,000! Find out what we have done so far and how you can get involved...
We are half way through 2024 already! Where did that time go?! The year has got off to a flying start, with it being our very special Platinum 70th birthday, we wanted to make the year as special as we possibly could. We decided on a fundraising target of £70,000, and we have been busy organising and hosting many fundraising events so far, with bigger and better yet to come in the second half of the year.

The year started with the launch of our #70For70Challenge - where we are asking YOU, our wonderful supporters, to raise a minimum of £70, doing a challenge of choice linked to the number 70. Our aim is to get 70 people to each raise a minimum of £70. We have been so impressed by the number of people who have signed up so far, and the creativity and bravery of some of the challenges has been incredible!

Challenges have so far included: 70 litter picks, 70 cold water plunges, 70 outdoor swims, 70 good deeds and our young people are also getting involved. Sophie has done 70 dances, Bethan is walking to 70 different trig points and Alice is doing 70 pull ups for Embrace! The challenges have no time limit, you have the whole of 2024 to get involved in this challenge.

Each month we have a 'Fundraiser of the month' and 'Young fundraiser of the month' - where we recognise those who have raised the most in that month, these are shared on Facebook and Instagram. Well done to all our superstar fundraisers taking part in the 70 for 70 Challenge - because of you we have already raised over £6500 from these challenges!

As well as this, we have also held an Easter Trail at Priory Marina, Bedford which raised over £1000; we have had bingo nights, a family quiz night, a ladies fashion show, Dress 2 Express Day as well as a number of supermarket collections! BUT the best is yet to come, including our Cream Tea fundraiser at Cardington Village Hall on Saturday 15th June, a charity Zumba class and of course our '70 Magical Years Platinum Ball' taking place in October! We have so far raised over £25,000 - which is exceptional! Thanks so much to everyone who has supported so far and remember to keep checking in to see our latest events and progress on our £70,000 fundraising goal!
